MLF Annual Awards

The Minor League Football Awards Committee will accept nominations from Head Coaches, Team Owners, General Managers, League Commissioners or Officials recognized by Minor League Football News, Minor League Football Hall of Fame and the U.S. Federation of American Football.

Criteria for Awards Nomination

1.      No individual may nominate his or her self.

2.      Nominations for Annual Awards must be received at the National Office by the due date (October 16th for the 2009 Award Year).

3.      All packets must be either mailed to the National Office and marked “Minor League Football Annual Awards” or sent via fax.

4.      A member of the Awards Selection Committee may contact the teams the nominee has been affiliated with including coaches, general managers, athletes or other affiliates of the team in order to obtain further support material.

5.       When it has been determined the nomination packet is fully complete, it will be compiled with all other nominee packets and presented to the Awards Committee for consideration.  A “ballot” will then be compiled from the list of nominees whose packets have been completed and submitted.

6.      The Annual Awards ballot is reviewed by the Minor League Football Hall of Fame Awards Committee of which a quorum of six (6) must be in attendance to conduct business.

7.      The Hall of Fame President and Chairman of the Board, and Executive Director, will notify the three finalists for each Award Category.  Notification will include the date and place of the presentation of the Minor League Football Hall of Fame Award.

8.      The three finalists will be issued an invitation to attend the Minor League Football Hall of Fame and Annual Awards Banquet.

9.      The three finalists for each award will be presented to the audience and, finally, a sealed envelope will be delivered to the Master of Ceremonies containing the name of the Award Winner.

10.  A nominee may be a finalist and, ultimately the winner, of more than one award though each award will be based on the merit of the nomination only.  A nominee who has already won an award will not be given additional, or a lesser amount of, consideration by virtue of having already won some other award.
